David, a 12th-grade American History and Government teacher in Virginia public schools, was a pilot participant in implementing the Civics Showcase Teacher’s Guide. The guide was created as a framework for teachers to encourage students to learn about civic engagement, the opportunities for service, and how their leadership can impact their community.
